This directory contains standard configuration files to optimize the basal friction velocity
This use the adjoint inverse method with the SSA direct model to minimize the mismatch between model and observed velocities
with constrains on the mismatch between model and observed ice flux divergence and smoothness of the basal friction field.

The output can be restarted to run forecast simulations in the SSA directory with using the optimized friction field.

USAGE:
	- Get required DATA
	- Get a mesh : e.g. http://elmerice.elmerfem.org/wiki/lib/exe/fetch.php?media=eis:greenland:present:greenland_mesh_v0.tar.gz
	- REQUIRED: Partition the mesh with ElmerGrid
	- compile User functions: make -f Makefile.IN
	- Update default parameters in OPTIM_BETA.IN
	- (OPTIONAL - Advanced users): update default .sif files: INIT_OPTIM_BETA.sif and OPTIM_BETA.sif
	- RUN the initialisation : INIT_OPTIM_BETA.sif
	- RUN the simulation: OPTIM_BETA.sif
