**To create the required IAM role for Amazon DLM**

The following ``dlm create-default-role`` example creates the AWSDataLifecycleManagerDefaultRole default role for managing snapshots. ::

    aws dlm create-default-role \
        --resource-type snapshot

This command produces no output.
