Project: Andrea Campos Carrillo - LS 30B Section 2K
In this course, you will learn how to design, study, and run mathematical models, particularly ones that apply to the study of dynamical systems in biology. This course will pick up where LS 30A left off, with the study of higher-dimensional, nonlinear mathematical models. Examples will come from ecological, physiological, chemical and other systems. We will first look at general patterns of behavior that can occur in such models, such as oscillations and chaotic dynamics. We will also learn how to analyze the behavior of a differential equation model near an equilibrium point. Along the way, we will learn the relevant fundamentals from linear algebra and multivariable calculus. As in LS 30A, we will use Sage to simulate these models on a computer.
