GAP 4.8.9 installation with standard packages -- copy to your CoCalc project to get it
Project: cocalc-sagemath-dev-slelievre
Views: 418346%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%1\Chapter{Introduction}23\index{carat}45This package contains GAP interface routines to {\CARAT},6a package of programs for the computation with crystallographic7groups. {\CARAT} is implemented in C, and has been developed by8J.~Opgenorth, W.~Plesken, and T.~Schulz at Lehrstuhl~B f\accent127ur9Mathematik, RWTH Aachen. The algorithms used by {\CARAT} are described10in \cite{OPS98}.1112{\CARAT} is to a large extent complementary to the GAP 4 package13{\Cryst}. In particular, it provides routines for the computation14of normalizers and conjugators of finite unimodular groups in $GL(n,Z)$,15and routines for the computation of Bravais groups, which are all16missing in {\Cryst}. Furthermore, {\CARAT} provides also a catalogue of17Bravais groups up to dimension 6. {\Cryst} automatically loads {\CARAT}18when it is available, and makes use of its functions where necessary.19The present package thereby extends the functionality of {\Cryst}20considerably.2122{\CARAT} itself is NOT part of this package. However, for your convenience,23and with the permission of the {\CARAT} authors, a copy of {\CARAT}24has been included. It is this version with which the interface routines25have been tested. The most recent version of {\CARAT} can be obtained at26the {\CARAT} Home Page2728\beginitems29&30\URL{http://wwwb.math.rwth-aachen.de/carat/}31\enditems3233The {\GAP} interface routines to {\CARAT} have been written by3435\beginitems36&37Franz G\accent127ahler\hfill\break38Fakult\accent127at f\accent127ur Mathematik\hfill\break39Universit\accent127at Bielefeld\hfill\break40Postfach 10 01 31\hfill\break41D-33501 Bielefeld\hfill\break42\Mailto{gaehler@math.uni-bielefeld.de}43\enditems4445to whom bug reports regarding these interface routines should be46addressed.4748Bug reports regarding {\CARAT} itself should be sent to49\Mailto{carat@momo.math.rwth-aachen.de}.50515253
